There are no shortage of powders to load the .308 Winchester cartridge, including below a 168 grain bullet. VIHT N-135, Accurate 2520, Varget, IMR 4064, Alliant RL 15, VIHT N-140, VIHT N-150 and Win 748 and then some. My goto load in 155s uses 47.8 gr varget in Win cases and 47.4 gr Varget in Lapua cases, CCI primers, and 155s. My gun has a long throat so I seat bullets at 2.948. Today I was able to load up 5 rounds each of charge weights from 41.8 to 42.4 (.2 increments) today to further test accuracy and velocity in the 178 ELD-X's. I got major pressure signs with 42grs of Varget under the Jug in a Lapua case at 2.920" coal in my TRG22.
