Hi, I have an old pick-up with an old western hydralic/electric plow. I have had a number of problems with this but have gotten by until now. It seems as if the plow will not raise regardless of what I do. The weight of the plow allows it to lower. The plow won't turn either direction as well. Feb 14, 2015 · I can answer this question too. .. there were a couple of different 6.5 Western plows: the most common would be the standard steel 6.5, which was about 560 lbs including the mount. the other would be the sport utility 6.5 which was just 425 neighborhood. I do see that I made a bit of a mistake in the other post.Today I loosened the top fitting on the 4 way housing and ran the plow right, then manually back left. I think I got all the air out of the system. Then I switched the hoses on the angle rams. I pulled the stick left, and the plow angled right. I have a truck that had a problem twice already, controller is flashing quickly. I replaced the module and solved the problem, then asked my dealer what he has found.That melted solenoid and made the plow motor stay running. Normally I probably would have heard the plow motor, yet my muffler blew out a week before that. So one set of brushes for the plow motor, and two solenoids later, and the plow is running great once again. Thanks everybody for the replies and assistance with troubleshooting.
