For lore wood elf or gnomes both work well. I think a drow or any under dark subrace would fit well as myconoids use similar spore magic. My spore Druid is a gnome.

The D&D 5e rules for multiclassing can be found here for free. Larian may adjust these rules in BG3. Larian is already homebrewing several of the rules regarding race, class, and subclass options. Some D&D 5e builds may not work well in BG3. And BG3 may have some really good multiclassing builds that wouldn't be possible in tabletop.Tavern brawler has had a massive glow up from one of 5e's worst feats to probably BG3's best. Even with the patch 5 nerfs it's still obviously incredible. So TB monk and TB thrower (probably Barb) are kind of nuts.
