Gm 3970010 block
Hey folks. I have a 1969 block that has the original broach marks as it has never been decked. It is a 3970010 block that is stamped V1219HA (for a 1969 Camaro/Chevelle/Nova 4 speed application) which is I believe is one of the Dec (M) blocks talked about in Colvin Chevrolet by the numbers on page 74 .I'm not 100% positive, but I seem to remember the cast in Mexico 3970010 was a four bolt main 350 engine, that allowed the oil pan dipsick to be located on either side of the block. I seem to remember the oil pan was unique to the cast in Mexico block and actually had contours for an oil dipstick on both sides of the oil pan.

re: 3970010. Can you post the id letters and numbers that you see on the engine block on the the small extension of the block surface just below and ahead of the head on the passenger side. I have some books that might reveal some info re: the year of the engine.
