The standard 30 will handle widely-available 45 ACP as-is, 45 Super with a barrel/RSA swap and 460 Rowland with the proper conversion. While not in the same class as the 460, the 10mm has plenty of thump. I haven't tried it, but I am told the 29 can also be adapted to fire 40 S&W.Grip on 36 is slimmer, slide is the same as on the 30S (30S is a 36 slide on a 30SF frame). Depending on the size of your hand, one or the other may be more comfortable to grip and to shoot. I find that the 21 has a little heavier trigger pull than the 30, which may be a characteristic of this gun only. However, I find them both about equally accurate. I do most of my dryfiring with the 21 because of the heavier trigger pull.

Flush mag 6 round mag in the 45 shield and flush 9 round mag in the 30S. Flush 6 round mag in the shield, 10 round mag in the 30s. I thought this was interesting.Ernest. I was looking at the 23 and the 30, but picked the 23 because the grip was that little bit bigger and fit my hand perfect. The 30 being a subcompact, my pinky was barely on the grip. So make sure it fits nice If you have a 22 already, and the 23 or 30 are easy enough to carry, you might as well try the 30.
