If the CEL is flashing stop driving asap and get it towed for repair, do not just clear the code and drive it. Flashing means there's a good chance of drive train damage. After I finished working on my MR2, I drove the Forester around, the TPMS light turned off and appears to be fine. Now, the TPMS light stays lit.

Can also confirm - had the same issue with my 2016 Forester. "Emission system needs to be checked", cruise control light blinking. Culprit was a blown 7.5a fuse under the hood.
