After a test drive it appears the oil is leaking out from somewhere above the transmission pan near the top side of the tranny. I never had any leaks before.Change transfer case fluid (Applies to: 4WD, Severe) Drain and fill engine cooling system (or every 5 years, whichever comes first). The front diff holds 2 qts. The read diff holds just shy of 4 qts. The trans will be about 10-12 qts with both filters. Use a good synthetic gear lube in the diffs. A good ATF in the trans. 2 qts in the transfer case.Same as the floor shift except done by pushing a button. "Automatic" means the t-case shifts in and out of 4wd as needed. Yor diffs take 80w-90, UNLESS the rear diff is the Eaton locker. Look for RPO code G80 on the sticker inside the glove box. The G80 uses a synthetic 75w-90 only available through GM (expensive).I would however recommend changing the rear differential fluid at about 10K. Not sure so much about the 4runner or Tacoma but my FJ fluid was totally black at 10K. I changed my rear diff fluid on my 4runner when I bought it with 23K. One of the 1st things I did to it. And like always loosen your fill plug 1st.

You don't have round push buttons correct? You should have rectangular 4 low 4 hi and 2wd if the latter is the case ATF is for you.Two choices. 1. I think these are 1/2" NPT. Tap the hole slightly deeper, and JB Weld a 1/2" pipe to 3/8" NPT reducing bushing in place. Never remove the bushing, remove the 3/8" plug to drain.
