8n carb adjustments
i rebuilt the carb on my 47 2n, i counted the turns on the adjustments before i removed them. and i put them back in the same. but she doesn't fire right off and tends to flood easy. seems like she started better before i rebuilt the carb.... 1947 2n, w/sherman transmission. fitted loader, loaded tires with chains, 5' grader blade.8N carb max adjustment. Heres the deal, Ford sez: adjust the sidepointing idle mixture to 1-turn; adjust the downpointing mainjet to 1-turn. I adjust the downpointing MAINJET to 1-1/2 turns and LEAVITT!!! I adjust the sidepointing idlemix to MAX idle rpms, not smoothest idle, MAX rpms, understand. Adjust the behind the carb throttle screw for a SLOOOoooww 400 rpms ...and slide your side bar down to the middle (Pg 13. of 26). Check the graph for the 1406 and look in the middle of the graph. That is #1, which the calibration that it comes out of the box.
