I was looking through my 1969 Camaro Reference Book and wrote down some numbers to look for which a couple of them were the intake manifold casting # 3932472 and the cylinder head casting # 3927186 like you mentioned. The other numbers were the distributor # 1111480 and the (3) possible engine casting #'s 3932386, …The number itself can have 6, 7 or 8 numeral digits. They might look like this “361959” or “3970010” or “14015445”. The block casting numbers do not have any letters in them. One forum quoted that GM moved date codes to the side of the block in the 70's. This is passenger side between the core plugs. Block code (in the usual place) confirmed as 3970010 "M" code next to this. For years I have seen certain Chevy small block cylinder blocks, the ones with the "010/020" cast into the timing recess and behind the bellhousing flange, referred to as "high nickel" blocks. ...
