The 330 was the original design for the small block Olds and it is a nice bore/stroke combination for all-around performance. I think it was increased to 350 mainly because GM's marketing wanted Olds to have a 350 to compete with the other makes of the time.From there on, the only way for additional size increases is through stroking. Hi, You aren't going to have as much flexibility in playing with the bore and stroke on a 327 because of it's design. The 327 used larger crank journals that the 283, 305, 307, or 350. The block of course is machined for this crank to fit, and other cranks won't work. The bore can only be opened up so much.from california. T-Roy said: ↑.
